Last Stretch of Guadalajara-PV Highway Opened

Travelers between Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta can now rejoice as the long-awaited new stretch of highway connecting the two cities has officially opened. This new route promises to significantly reduce travel time and enhance the overall travel experience.

The 32.5-kilometer section, which extends from Bucerías, Nayarit, to the Puerto Vallarta International Airport, is expected to cut travel time by approximately 20 minutes. The entire journey from Guadalajara to Puerto Vallarta can now be completed in just two and a half hours.

Tolls for the new highway have been set at 1,290 pesos for a one-way trip, making the roundtrip cost 2,580 pesos. While the cost of construction, primarily funded by the National Infrastructure Fund, was a significant investment of 7.216 billion pesos, the benefits in terms of time savings and improved transportation infrastructure are expected to be substantial.

Motorists traveling from Guadalajara will encounter toll booths at El Arenal, Plan de Barrancas, Amado Nervo, and La Peñita. The final toll booth is located just before reaching Puerto Vallarta.
