Art enthusiasts and visitors to Puerto Vallarta can look forward to the return of the popular Malecón Sculpture Walking Tours, led by Galería Pacífico owner Gary Thompson. Starting November 19, 2024, these free weekly tours offer a fascinating journey through the city’s iconic art scene.
The tours begin at 9:30 AM on Tuesdays, starting at the “Millennia” sculpture near Hotel Rosita. Gary Thompson, a longtime resident and passionate art enthusiast, shares engaging stories about the history and artists behind approximately 16 sculptures along the Malecón. His personal connections provide unique insights into the city’s rich artistic heritage.
The self-guided tours are perfect for those who want to explore the Malecón at their own pace. Visitors can enjoy the walk, learn about the sculptures, and appreciate the vibrant artistic culture of Puerto Vallarta.
While the tours are free, donations are encouraged to support Biblioteca Los Mangos, a local public library that receives limited government funding.
