The recent holiday season brought a significant economic boost to Nayarit, with tourism generating over 2 billion pesos. Juan Enrique Suarez, Secretary of Tourism for Nayarit, revealed that the actual economic impact of the winter holiday season exceeded initial projections, which had estimated a figure of over 2.3 billion pesos.
Suarez shared the influx of tourists to the state increased by 15% compared to 2023. He attributed the growth to the opening of new highways, which provide more direct connections to states in the Bajío region, leading to increased occupancy in hotels and vacation rentals.
For 2025, Suarez anticipates significant growth in both domestic and international tourism for Nayarit, thanks to ongoing promotional efforts.
