New Highway to Reduce Tepic-PV Travel Time to 90 Minutes

The Tepic-Compostela highway is set to open in mid-September, significantly reducing travel time between Tepic and Puerto Vallarta to just 90 minutes.

The 26-kilometer Tepic-Compostela highway will complement the already operational Compostela-El Capomo-Bucerías section, creating a seamless route from Tepic to the coast.

Additionally, construction is underway on the Bucerías-Puerto Vallarta International Airport spur road, expected to be completed by mid-September as well.

The new highways are anticipated to bring significant economic benefits to the region, particularly by enhancing tourism accessibility. According to Nayarit’s Tourism Ministry, the 2024 summer season alone is expected to generate an economic impact of 3 billion pesos from over 2 million visitors. With the improved transportation options, this figure is projected to rise even further.
