New Las Ánimas Pier Inaugurated

Jalisco Governor Pablo Lemus’s administration has unveiled several new infrastructure projects on the state’s coast, including the completion of the Las Ánimas Pier. These initiatives, which also include a supervision visit to the Las Juntas traffic circle and an update on the Mismaloya Pier, are part of a broader plan to enhance tourism infrastructure, urban mobility, and environmental protection in the region.

The new pier in Cabo Corrientes represents a significant investment of 49.5 million pesos, executed by the Secretary of Infrastructure and Public Works (SIOP). The project involved a comprehensive revitalization, including the reinforcement of 60 pillars with structural steel, the replacement of 134 beams, and a cleanup of the marine floor. It also features a new pedestrian walkway, along with modern lighting, railings, and furnishings.

Governor Lemus highlighted the pier’s functionality, stating that “it’s a pier where small boats, launches, and yachts can disembark, with very comfortable stairs.” For local merchants, the project provides direct access to nearby restaurants and tourism services. Joaquín Romero Bravo, the Mayor of Cabo Corrientes, expressed that the new pier “will have important tourism and economic benefits for families who live from fishing, recreational activities, and commerce.”
