Puerto Vallarta is a finalist in the 2026 Ángel del Turismo Awards, now in their 11th year. Public voting is open through Oct. 15, and winners will be named at the Night of Angels gala on Oct. 29 in Puebla, the first time the ceremony is held outside Mexico City.
Banderas News reports three local nominations: Tourist Destination of the Year; Public Management in Meeting Tourism for the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust; and a Business Merit Award in the meetings industry for the Puerto Vallarta International Convention Center. The official Visit Puerto Vallarta tourism board independently confirms the public-management nomination, which honors destinations that bid for and host conventions, incentives, and large professional gatherings.
For visitors, the recognition tracks what you already see on the ground. Puerto Vallarta’s historic center and the Malecón remain the city’s public face, while the convention center and hotel inventory support the meetings side of the same destination. If you want to vote, use the official ballot at votacion.angeldelturismo.com and confirm the current categories there. Older nominados pages on the awards site can still show prior-year names.
The gala falls in the same busy fall window as other Puerto Vallarta events, so travelers here in late October will find a city already dressed for festivals, meetings, and evening walks along the bay.
