Puerto Vallarta is offering a free weekday course for people who work with visitors, starting Monday, October 19. Jalisco’s Academia Turística and the city’s Subdirección de Emprendimiento y Competitividad scheduled five in-person sessions through Friday, October 23, from 9:00 a.m. to noon.
Classes meet in the office training room at Iturbide 122, in the historic center, a short walk from the streets covered in the site’s downtown Puerto Vallarta guide. Agencia Jafríco and PVR Online both name Olivia Rodríguez Ruiz, an instructor with the Jalisco Tourism Secretariat, as the teacher.
Local reports list the course as “Conciencia turística, el cliente difícil y trabajo en equipo e innovación.” The official Academia Turística signup form uses that same heading and also invites participants to a course titled “Relaciones humanas, cultura turística y calidad en el servicio,” with the same dates, hours, and Iturbide classroom.
The program is aimed at tourism-service workers and covers visitor awareness, difficult customers, teamwork, and innovation. If you eat out or book help downtown, this is the kind of training meant to show up in everyday service at Puerto Vallarta restaurants and other visitor businesses. The classroom sits a few blocks inland from the Malecón.
Registration is free through the state tourism academy form. The signup asks for the usual government details, including your name and CURP. Confirm the current listing before you go, especially if weather alerts are still active on the coast.
