Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP) has released positive preliminary figures for September 2025 passenger traffic, showing an overall increase of 1.0% across its twelve Mexican airports compared to the same month in 2024. Among the major destinations, the Puerto Vallarta International Airport delivered an exceptionally strong performance, driving much of the overall growth.
Puerto Vallarta reported a robust 2.6% increase in total terminal passengers for September, a significant gain compared to other major airports in the network. This positive result was primarily fueled by a massive surge in the domestic market, which saw a 7.4% rise in Mexican travelers passing through the terminal. This domestic strength highlights the city’s enduring appeal as a favored destination for travelers within Mexico.
Looking at the year-to-date figures through September 2025, the trend remains highly encouraging for Puerto Vallarta. The airport has welcomed over 5.17 million total passengers, reflecting a 1.6% increase over the same period last year. Notably, the domestic segment has truly soared, showing an impressive 11.0% growth since the beginning of the year, cementing the domestic market as a key pillar of the airport’s success.
