PV Celebrates First Edition of ‘Recuérdame’ Festival

Puerto Vallarta is gearing up to celebrate its first-ever ‘Recuérdame’ Festival from October 31st to November 3rd. This inaugural event will feature a variety of cultural and artistic activities throughout the city, honoring the traditional Day of the Dead.

Organized by the municipal government, the festival will include a grand ofrenda dedicated to Don Guadalupe Sánchez in the Plaza de Armas, along with smaller altars in various locations. A towering 28-meter catrina, complete with a pet, will be a focal point of the festivities, courtesy of the Tourism Trust.

The malecón, Plaza Lázaro Cárdenas, Los Muertos Pier, and Isla del Río Cuale will host a series of events, and a vibrant parade is scheduled for November 2nd. Additionally, local neighborhoods and cemeteries will be involved, hosting altar contests, tomb decoration competitions, catrina contests, film screenings, guided tours, storytelling sessions, and workshops.
