Puerto Vallarta recorded its second triple cruise ship arrival of the month yesterday, November 26. This impressive logistical feat saw three international vessels dock simultaneously, injecting a substantial economic boost into the city and signaling a highly successful start to the high season.
The three cruise ships—the Norwegian Jade, Nieuw Amsterdam, and Carnival Panorama—collectively transported nearly 10,000 passengers and over 3,000 crew members, totaling more than 13,000 people ready to spend the day exploring the destination. This significant influx of visitors is expected to generate an economic impact exceeding 22 million pesos (over $1.2 million USD) for local service providers, based on estimated spending averages for cruise ship tourists and crew.
The morning operation was a smooth showcase of port efficiency. The Norwegian Jade, arriving from San Diego, was the first to dock at International Pier 2 at 6:00 a.m. It was quickly followed by the Nieuw Amsterdam, also originating from San Diego, which docked at Pier 1. The arrival was completed by the large Carnival Panorama, which arrived from Long Beach, California, completing the triple docking at Pier 3 at 8:50 a.m.
The National Port System Administration (ASIPONA) Puerto Vallarta highlighted the success of the operation, emphasizing their commitment to providing modern, comfortable, and secure infrastructure that meets international quality standards for all visitors.
