Vallarta Airport Back to Normal After Global IT Outage

Puerto Vallarta International Airport has returned to normal operations following an IT outage that affected check-in procedures and caused flight delays on Friday.

The outage, which was part of a global Microsoft system failure, impacted 18 flights on Friday, primarily those operated by United Airlines, Delta Airlines, American Airlines, and WestJet. Most of the affected flights were bound for the United States and Canada.

As of today, only two United Airlines flights and one Delta Airlines flight from Atlanta, United States, have been affected by the outage. Additionally, United Airlines flight DAL 9893 was unable to depart on Friday due to the end of the workday and will be departing on Saturday afternoon.

On Friday, long lines formed at the airport terminal due to the manual check-in process. The issue was resolved the same night, and normal operations resumed on Saturday.
