Vallarta Avoids Off-Season Slump with Tourist Influx

Puerto Vallarta bucked the off-season trend thanks to a surge in international tourism, especially from Canada.

Fidetur Vallarta director Luis Villaseñor Nolasco credits group arrivals and events in May for the steady visitor flow. Conventions, sporting events, and even weekend road trips helped maintain high hotel occupancy.

This strong performance highlights Puerto Vallarta’s advantage over other beach destinations. Not only does it boast excellent air connectivity, but its convenient road access attracts visitors for quick getaways, particularly during weekends. Additionally, the city’s pleasant climate, with slightly cooler ocean temperatures compared to other parts of the country, is proving to be a draw for tourists seeking respite from the summer heat.

Looking ahead, Fidetur Vallarta is not resting on its laurels. Promotions are in full swing in major cities like Aguascalientes and Guadalajara to capitalize on the momentum and ensure a smooth transition into the peak summer vacation season.
