The Vallarta Symphony Orchestra will present The Wreckers in two late-June concerts, giving residents and visitors another cultural reason to plan an evening around Puerto Vallarta’s arts scene.
The program is scheduled for Saturday, June 27, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Biblioteca Los Mangos, followed by a second performance on Sunday, June 28, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at Universidad Tecnológica de Bahía de Banderas. IAMPV’s event listing confirms the same venues and dates.
Conducted by Maestro Aquiles Morales, the concert opens with Ethel Smyth’s dramatic overture to The Wreckers. The program then moves through Vivaldi, Beethoven and Piazzolla before closing with José Pablo Moncayo’s Huapango, one of Mexico’s best-known orchestral works.
For visitors staying near downtown, the concert pairs naturally with an afternoon exploring Puerto Vallarta’s things to do or an early walk along the Malecón before heading to Biblioteca Los Mangos.
