Volaris Expands Jalisco Operations with Five New Routes

Jalisco is set for a major boost in air travel and economic development following an announcement from the state government and Volaris. Governor Pablo Lemus Navarro led an event to celebrate the airline’s addition of its 150th aircraft and the launch of five new direct routes, four domestic and one international, to enhance connectivity from Guadalajara International Airport.

In a move that signals confidence in the state’s potential, Volaris has also agreed to establish a new aircraft maintenance center in Jalisco. Governor Lemus praised this commitment, highlighting the new jobs and economic growth it will bring.

The five new direct routes from Guadalajara will now connect Jalisco to Durango, Zihuatanejo, Puebla, Villahermosa, and Bogotá, Colombia. These additions will strengthen the state’s position as a key travel hub. Jalisco’s Secretary of Tourism, Michelle Fridman Hirsch, noted that the state is home to two of the five best-connected airports in Mexico, and with these new routes, Volaris will operate a total of 57 routes in Jalisco, with 48 from Guadalajara and nine from Puerto Vallarta.
