Puerto Vallarta proudly hosted the German cruise ship AIDA Diva this past weekend, which is currently undertaking an extraordinary 133-day global circumnavigation. The vessel, carrying 1,993 passengers and 647 crew members, made a significant stop in the Mexican Pacific, underscoring the city’s appeal as a world-class maritime destination.
The AIDA Diva’s massive journey began in Hamburg, Germany, on November 10 and will visit 55 ports across 27 different countries before concluding back in Hamburg in March 2026. This year’s route is particularly notable as it includes visits to destinations in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam, and Hawaii for the first time on the line’s world tour.
The voyage covers an impressive 35,843 nautical miles across all five continents. Passengers on board are enjoying a spectacular entertainment program featuring various guest artists, including actress Michaela Schaffrath and musical acts like The Weather Girls. The cruise also offers unique experiences such as New Year’s Eve in Honolulu and twelve overnight stays in major global cities like New York and San Francisco.
