Puerto Vallarta’s Domósfera immersive dome will stay active as a family-friendly cultural attraction during the World Cup period, with state officials also looking for ways to keep the venue useful after the tournament.
The Government of Jalisco says the Domósfera is opening Tuesday through Sunday from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm on days when the broader Vibra Jalisco Fan Zone has no programmed match activities. The state describes the installation as the first immersive dome of its kind in Latin America and the third largest in the world, with two domes that can host 350 and 80 people for free videomapping and educational experiences.
BanderasNews reported that Jalisco tourism secretary Michelle Fridman Hirsch wants to extend the venue’s life with additional programming, including possible films, documentaries, concerts, and special cultural events. The dome sits at Auditorio Benito Juárez, a practical location between Puerto Vallarta’s Hotel Zone and downtown.
For visitors, the update adds another indoor, weather-buffered option to the city’s cultural sightseeing mix, especially for families looking beyond the beach. Travelers can pair the dome with Puerto Vallarta’s family-friendly activities, but should confirm the current daily schedule before heading to the venue because Fan Zone programming can shift around match days and special events.
