dang, i have so much to say
have a lovely day folks !!!!!!
I have encountered worse situations in other places. South Beach adds 18% to meals and still leaves the blank tip line of the CC receipt.

Jamaicans trying to rip us off at every turn. Cancun as a boring tourist trap.

I carry a safety stock of US $1 bills and use those top top up when needed in taxis and for tips. I never negotiate for most rides because I usually know the rate and have more leverage when standing outside my place. I have heard that they ask for more when you ask in advance.

I am interested in what tourists expect. I think it is good that nearly_scammed does not return. No one should come to a place that makes them feel uncomfortable. We never go to Cancun or Florida or Jamaica anymore because we do not enjoy our stays there.

Yet I do not rant and rave to try and make them suitable for us. We vote with our feet. Same is true of restaurants in PV. Yet on balance we love the entreprenuerial spirit in PV.
\"Is this message board an open free-speech forum for exchanging information, or are only those towing the pro-PV party line invited to participate? Why the sensitivity? \"

No, my friend, this board is NOT an open, free forum of exchange. It used to be, but over the years it has changed. If a person wants to remain here, it behooves them to tow the \"party line\" or no line at all. If you have a complaint with PV, just keep it to your self, otherwise, well, you can see the results. Sorry. Chuck... 8)
Thanks
Well, thanks Nearly for your posts and comments, all experiences are useful, not only for those that travel to Puerto Vallarta, but in Mexico and maybe even elsewhere.

Personally I have had no issues in Vallarta, I do find the TS booth an insult, but when you consider the amount of money that pours into the economy through that business, well, then you start to understand how things are done in the world (consider other examples, Wal-Mart, Monsanto, etc.).

Different people have different levels of tolerance to issues, in my case, when on vacation I actively try to avoid taking anything seriously and it works well as far as I can remember.

Greetings

Mogens

PD: I separated the IP issues and related to a separate thread so this can keep on track.
Old Posts And Old Posters
Its been several days and nobody has explained to kat why this post was resurrected - that is just wrong ! You (collective you ) had better smarten up or else !
Smitty,
Is that oversized spoon going to fit in that pot you are trying to stir?
Buffet,
the post was resurrected because it can be. people are free to comment on any post on here regardless of the date, or has that changed as well?
Really, maybe you should re-read what you just posted again then. You just totally contradicted yourself .
My first thought when I saw this thread was going again was \"What the ??? How come this is going again???\" Then after I read the first couple posts resurrecting it...thought...ok...no problema I guess...if people feel they can contribute and it picks up again , who cares?

And why would we care if it gets resurrected?? Moreover...why complain about it? Sheesh...time for me to disappear for a month or so again...
Buffett,
I have to say I could not understand what the problem was. To my knowledge we have never met and we have never had any negative interaction before in any posts. Just chalk it up to the stress of the holidays, economy, etc. I hope your Holidays are merry.

Kat
Happy Birthday Chris!
