:( Do you think this will mean bad weather for next week? My boyfriend will be in Los Cabos Monday and I am going to be in Puerto Vallarta next Friday! :shock:

Based on the latest weather models, Cabo should be in store for something. Hopefully it will be only rain but I am not a weatherperson.

I think that Jennybean made an excellent post on this topic in another section today that explains why PV is safe. Betting on her being right, but it would be stressful for everyone there anyway.

Our whole Province was extremely warm (30+) and windy (60-80 k winds) yesterday which was a pleasant change. Nobody could go fishing here as their were 4-6 foot waves even in the bay. We were all thinking that these hurricane winds from both sides had leapfrogged the U.S. and came up here, until someone rationally pointed out that with our Prime Minister in Saskatchewan for the day bringing all that hot air from Ottawa, what else could we expect!

Some coastal communities in Jalisco state, where Puerto Vallarta is located, were being evacuated because of their proximity to two dams, state authorities said.

As previously noted, please use your own caution when reading stories from the big news agencies. And Mogens is correct - Jalisco is a BIG state, and most of it is south of PV...which is why Nuevo Vallarta is in Nayarit State, because Jalisco ends north of PV.

The locals are reporting dead calm, clouds, a sprinkle of rain.
