Armed Hold-Up

Started March 7, 2007 · 50,042 views · 19 posts
I have a friend staying at Villa del Palmar who told me about an incident that just happened to 3 ladies staying there currently. It seems they went to a time share presentation at Paradise Village and among their gifts for going were tickets for a day of horseback riding. They went with a fairly large group and for some reason took their wallets with EVERYTHING in them - all their cash and every credit card, even though they have a safe in their room. The group was held up at gun point and everything was taken, including their jewelry. In one of their wallets was the key to the safe in their room so Villa del Palmar is charging them $80.00 to have it opened so they can get their tickets and passports out. It is a very regrettable and horrible thing to have happen to you and if you ever decide to go on such a tour, please be warned and leave your credit cards and most of your money and all of jewelry back at your hotel!

My response to: \" It can happen anywhere\". Or PV is just as safe as the U.S or Canada\" has been, \"well, it HAPPENED in PV, not where I live\". The problem with that is is DOES happen where I live. To days ago, less than a quarter mile from my home, at a stoplight that I use everyday was a holdup...in broad daylight at 12 noon. A guy with a gun jumped in front of a car, pointed the gun at the driver. Then he went to the drivers side, broke the window and took her purse and cell phone. In Portland last week a guy with a gun went into a store, shot the clerk in the head and robbed the place. I think the thing to be learned is not especially where these awful things happen, but rather how we can make our selves safer and more robbery proof where ever we are. Chuck... 8)

Clearly good advice from Ellen , Kat and Charlieb . User image
Bailing out of this thread and a couple others.

Me to I have some thoughts but what is the point of voicing them ...
Will just be deleted... Again....
A lesson learned for posters today...On most forums
Best is to stick to playing word game and fluffy stuff...
My horse never complained as long as I gave him a beer.

True story, as we were cleaning out the stall one day, my ex set his beer on the fence while he emptied the wheel barrow. We turned around and looked and my horse had the beer can in his mouth and was downing the beer.
I also think today that this board could lose some very good people that actually do contibute to the board instead of just signing on to jump on people that try..
So you were on the street at 2AM without a shirt on? Is that right?

Mogens
It may not be the right thing but I was hot from dancing so about 10 mins. before the incident I had taken my shoes and shirt off and took a dip in the ocean.
Is that something you would have done in your hometown?

Mogens
I am not mad or upset, just made a comment on how 300 pesos was taken from me by the police who took me in the back of there truck.Like I said before I am laughing about it now.
Gives new meaning to: \"Smoking Could be Dangerous to Your Health\" . Chuck... 8)
Smitty you have to come home with some pesos so you can have beer money for breakfast, and what a small world michelle, your parents are great. I had fun having a few cocktails with norm at the pool. I let them down when I first met them because I was on my best behavior that night.
lmao yes the first meet was wonderfull they said. :D Like smitty said jeff you have a great attitude alot of ppl would have let this incident wreck the rest of there vacation but you just took it in stride (except for the smokes :D )

Mr.charlieb rotflmao good one. :D
