mysterious bite

The 15 monthold G-daughter was bitten by something while we were in
PV last week. We first noticed a 1/2 inch square flare on her forearm.
That night a blister formed and was accidentally opened. By the next
morning a second blister had formed over the first. She never complained
of pain or itching. Last night (june 19) I looked at the area and it was back to a red flare no larger than 1/4 inch square.
Any one have an idea as to cause?

Were you in the ocean at all? I know there were many jellyfish in the ocean when we were there. It sounds similar to a reaction given by the white jellyfish. If she were stung by a blue one she would be in terrible pain based on the people we saw who got stung by the blue ones.

Maybe your G-daughter was bitten by a no-see-um ?
I have heard that one gets blisters after they have been bitten by the little bug..

This sounds like a classic description of an insect bite. Most likely a spider of some kind.

Insect repellant is always a wise thing to pack and use . We are hearing of west nile virus cases more and more (Canada) . Simple precaution can save a lot of angst .
