If you are suckered into listening to a timeshare pitch at a hotel or whatever, just remember this: If you are an American and sign a timeshare contract in Mexico, any legal recourse you may need to resolve a problem (which may well occur) will be limited to Mexican law. US laws do not apply even if the Mexican company has an office in the US, i.e. Club Golden Shores in Los Angeles, which represents Marina de Oro timeshares, which is affiliated with Hotel Playa de Oro. The bottom line is this: Do not buy a timeshare in Puerto Vallarta unless you can afford to lose ALL of your investment. Consider this advise to be from someone who knows!!!
