2007 Controversial thought

Not real good at the politics thing, but is it true that (example) If I lived in the U.S. and wanted to put my canadian flag up it has to be lower than the american flag. Secondly In my photos as Im sure you have all seen I added the three flags being flown together canada,america and mexico, these flags are all down three major roads and have been since sunday, and will continue to the end of the week. I am very honoured to see them flying in our town.Im even more honoured to have P.M. harper,and govenors from the united states and mexico coming to our town. Just my little thoughts here.

I know in the city on big businesses you can tell they fly lower but now that I look at the pics I took there a little lower but they were looking even. Guess I just never really paid attention to the heights. My dad has the canadian and american in his yard I will have to look if there even or not cant remember.

I have a question for my Canadian Brothers and Sisters: If I were to march down one of your Canadian streets carrying my American flag protesting, say, the high cost of Pure Canadian Maple Syrup, would Sergeant Preston and Yukon King arrest and put me in jail? Just curious. Thanks. Chuck... 8)

I bet if you marched down any street in Canada protesting high costs of maple syrup or maybe high costs of gas :x ...the passing cars would honk and hoot .... some folks might give you a thumbs up.. Lots of folks might boo You but get locked up in a jail if you were being peaceful..No
If Sergeant Preston and King .....were officers of the law in small town Canada you just might end up discussing the high costs of things in America while sharing pancakes and the best Pure Canadian Maple syrup.

I live 5 minutes from the Canada - U.S. border in White Rock, B.C. I drive to the border at least 3 times a week. All i remember seeing at the border is the U.S. flag and the Canadian flag both flying proudly side by side, at the longest undefended border in the world.

I have no intention or desire to spend my vacation in a mexican jail cell. Thanks but no thanks.

So yes my dad had the canadian flag a bit higher than the american. I say had because we have had some wicked winds and the pole snapped in half.I dont want to be in a canadian,american, or mexican jail so no protesting for me.

We had some protesters here today for when the prime minister came. It was so odd to see this in our little town.

Im not sure about the maple syrup but if you came to our town and protested about Crown Royal or Seagrams 83 I might have to arrest you.
(citzens arrest dont touch the whiskey). :D

Oh i agree with you both on what you are saying... maybe some of the ex-pats that have retired and migrated south should rise to the call as well and work with their locals to convince them on how to change life as they know it... but who knows if they can must enough enthusiasm to make the political system work. If a mexican wants to illegally come into the stays, he pays a coyote close to $10,000 USD to make his wishes come true. Now if they took that same money, and pooled it with others to establish a strong political base, changes and reforms would be coming to the mexican government... but then again, i am just a lunatic from Iowa right... :wink: :lol: 8)

I like your thought process on the the \"obedience of law\" and the \"respect for the laws\" of the country you are visiting. I agree those \"amigos\" and \"amigas\" that protested should be the first ones rounded up and sent back immediately.

Now there is breaking news in California on a school getting acredidation for immigrants and is teaching the \"old Aztec ways\" which i guess was very war like. Heard this on the Sean Hannity show last night driving home... Interesting as more and more comes out on the different communities that have evolved with the illegal immigrants.
