Jelly Fish in June

Since Mr. Crown and I have not been in PVR in June, can someone tell us if we need to worry about the jelly fish in June? We are trying to plan a family vacation for next year (possibly June or Nov) and want to make sure that our nephew and niece can go in the ocean and not have to worry about them!! :D

Last June (2005) there were plenty of them on Los Muertos beach. A little Mexican boy got stung pretty badly and no one in the crowed remembered that the best cure is to \"pee\" on the sting!

The other thing to worry about are sting rays. In sandy areas they are quite common.

A friend of mine stepped on one about a month ago. Was very painful. The only way I know of to stop the pain and help destroy the toxin is to plunge the affected area into the hottest water that your body can stand and leave it there for a half hr or so adding hot water all the time.

late response... but my family and i were there this june and yes there were jellyfish and there were flags out as well....my 14 yr old got a nice sting there at Crown Paradise but funny thing is...she was boogie boarding and didnt notice till that night...the burn mark was def. a sting and she was never in really major pain like i have felt when I have been stung(gulf of MX) We had friends from PV look at it and said yes it was a sting but evidently there are diff. kinds of jellyfish and the one she got stung by was not suppose to be as bad...the scar is still there but atleast its a PV scar! There were several but you just had to be careful and that was the first time ever that I had seen the jellyfish there in PV....we saw only a couple when snorkeling at Los Arcos...what was weird was a neon glow coming in on the waves in the evening...they were little balls once they landed on sand...i had a few on my shoes but never could understand what Ricardo was trying to tell me they were....it was pretty though!
