You will find horses to ride.
The outfitters will probably ride right by your Resort or very close.
They set up North of you closer to the De Cameron. There are 2 different family owned outfitters.
You can ride morning afternoon or evening. About $25.00 American.
I have ridden several times with a cowboy named Charlie. I respect the way he handles and looks after his horses. The horse rides are what feeds his family and he takes his job very seriously.
Also for those that have concerns about horse poo . The horse outfitters on the beach clean up immediately . I love riding on the beach . Go barefoot and and let the waves spash on you.
I did not go North of PV this year so I am talking previous years but I would bet things have not changed. :)

Must add I have heard and read about a Ranch that gives rides and everyone that goes there seem to enjoy the ride.

There are many \"booze\" cruises to choose from... The Pirate Ship (the Marigallante) is a spanish galleon that has day and evening cruises that are a riot.... we prefer the evening cruise because of the fire works, and the sunsets from the various decks... the food is pretty good as well... you can party on Rythm of the nights as well... going out and back, and the whole time you are there.... good food here as well... and nice romantic dining by tiki torches....

Festivities... just get down town... there are all kinds of fun things to do... especially on a saturday or sunday night... when all the locals come out.. all dressed up, grab a spot, order a bucket, and sit back and enjoy... then get out on the malecon and wander thru all the people... food, drinks, more food, and entertainment at every turn....

In Feb 2002, we rented right in old town 2 blocks south of Viva for the month. We exchanged visits with a couple staying at the Mayan Palace. When we got there we had forgotten how tranquil life could be! What I would do if I were you is spend days around the pool but go to Los Muertos beach early on for a day at the beach. Rent a chair and soak up the \"culture\". Bring pesos to do some deals with beach vendors. Be pampered with food and drink right at your chair. Wonder down to the Blue Chairs to admire some bodies. If you are not intimidated, return one night for their live rooftop shows.

Every night, try a different restaurant in town, or in Bucerias. Try happy hour at CyCs. Definitely go dancing at Andales after dinner at least once. Hire a driver for the day to explore Punta Mita and Sayulita. Eat lunch at Don Pedros. Arrange to gain entrance to The Four Seasons through your hotel concierge before you leave.

Try Carmelitas for sunset dinner (bring a sweater). Take a gang to the Vista Grill for dinner. Go to Chez Elena for a sunset drink then try a neat Mexican restaurant nearby. Go to Barcelona Tapas for a sunset meal. Make sure to take your camera. You will not be disappointed. Take the Rythym of the Night dinner cruise from the Marina.

Get an outside table at Tequilas for dinner on Sunday and watch the promenade on the Malecon. Walk down to Los Arcos after dinner, watch free entertainment and shop for local art.

Book your return trip to PV and stay downtown. You have only just begun. (Take the donkey ride to the waterfall in Yelapa on your next trip plus many other adventures: El Tuito/Altamira, Chicos Paradise. Mismaloya/Le Cliffe, El Set/La Playita, Los Arbolitos, The Agave Grill, El Arrayan, Bogarts, The Kitkat Club...)

The only problem with PV is the amount of money and time it takes to enjoy it all. Also on my list: deep sea fishing, ATV trail rides, waverunner races, go cart racing, parasailing, swimming with the dolphins...

Tequila v/s cerveza, pollo v/s carne de res...thank God there are differences for everyone.
