Spellings

we say zed, they say zee, the nice part is the letter is not used much by either side of the border. Another one is Cheque, which they spell check, although many here in Canada spell it either way.

Actually the Rhinoceros party got quite a few votes when they ran in the federal elections. They were a spoof party, but the trick was that they tried to get the people who were fed up with all of the parties to vote for them as a anti-vote. Some of the people that ran under their banner were very well known people in their cities, (just all around good guys, comedians, etc, who did not take politics seriously, ) like Hugh Arscott ( a well known businessman and somewhat of a clown) in Saskatoon. He actually got a lot of votes, never ever came close to winning, but at least the people went out and voted. (75-80 percent). Every one of their platforms were totally hilarious.

Boy, Canuckistanian, you sure got me there! :D . And as far a pronouncing words, just listen to how our Southern brothers and sisters talk :lol: And the Rhinoceros Party? Were they a serious party or sort of off the cuff? Chuck... 8)

thanks for the article on Hugh. I did not know that about him, even though we lived in Saskatoon for quite a few years, and I went to the U of S. Very appropriate timing since it is coming up on Remembrance Day.

Some people make a huge impression in ones life. Hugh was that kind of person for me.
I was born and I lived most of my life in Saskatoon.
My dream is to one day go back.
