1st Time to Bucerias

Started August 30, 2004 · 6,026 views · 4 posts
This is our 1st trip to the PV area. We have decided to stay in Bucerias. We will be there for 1 week in early March. Should we rent a car to get around or hire a driver with a car? Can anyone provide us with what to see and places to go in and around the Bucerias area?
Are there any snorkeling cruises that leave from the Bucerias/La Cruz area?
Any and all information would be appreciated!
Thanks, Chas

Re:1st Time to Bucerias
Where will you be staying in Bucerias? That might determine whether you need a car. It is very easy to catch the bus to PV or Sayulita. As far as I know, you will have to go into PV for snorkeling. There are quite a few good restaurants in Bucerias--not fancy. La Cruz is smaller than Bucerias. No real sites, just great beach and beautiful Banderas Bay.

I have always rented a jeep while I was in PV, I drive a standard & never had a problem with traffic. I drove all the way south and all the way North to San Fran. beach. I have a friend that lives there so maybe that made a difference with never being slowed down with check points, the only thing that I did run into was a sand storm but just put a pair of sun glasses on and a towel around my face and head (no wise remarks please:)).

You just have to watch where you park because they will either take your plates while your in a store or tow you.
