Best money exchange US or PV

We are going to PV in June, but wanted to get a good idea on where we should get the best currency conversion? Thanks

The best conversion is usually at a bank in PV. You can also use a \"Casa de Cambio\" which has longer hours, more convenient, and usually a slightly lower rate than the banks. I noticed that the exchange rate for dollars recently has been 12-13 pesos per dollar, which is the best exchange rate in years.

A friend who just returned from PV advised me to change my dollars into pesos, since at most restaurants, if you use dollars, they are still quoting the usual \"10 pesos per dollar\" rate, which is really not fair. Restaurants should give you closer to the actual bank exchange rate. Your dollars will go farther if you exchange to pesos.

Who wants to spend their vacation shopping around for the best place to exchange, I think that was the purpose of the question.

We were in PV in Dec, Bank rate was 13.3
at the Sheraton we got 12.7

Most credit cards are now charging a 3% surcharge on out of US
charges

What kind of rate did your bank give you? I always tell people to not bother taking us money but rather to just use the ATM.

We are staying at Paradise Village in Nueva, I think that is where it is at. We are heading there June 12 through June 19. Just like everyone else, looking for the best rates. Thanks

Doubt many Mexicans will consider the devaluation good times, have a number of friends and acquaintances that lost it all or almost all at that time. Many should have retired and were forced to continue working. :?
