Cingular GSM phones

Previous years of traveling to Puerto Vallarta we have been able to use our cell phones. We have since upgraded to the GSM network with Cingular and was wondering if anyone else has used their cel phones there in Puerto Vallarta. What about Punta Mita area?

Your Cingular should be a dual-band 850 - 1900 mHz phone. If so, then you should be able to pick up a signal on the 1900 mHz channels. You should, however, contact Cingular before you leave for PV as you may need to purchase specialized coverage to use the phone outside of the US. Hope this helps.
