Day of The Dead.... Anyone been down there at that time?

Day of The Dead.... Anyone been down there at that time?
We are thinking about going at that time next year. We went in the beginning of Sept. this year. Is it pretty crowded at that time?
And what is the weather like.

not overly busy, it is the very early beginnings of mid to high season, lots of businesses are reopening after a few weeks/months siesta. Weather is usually warm, sunny and very, very humid.

most all mexicans pay their respects to their lost love ones
they prepare food flowers candles decorations to spend some moments with them
some will clean up their grounds plants new ones and maintanance of their grounds..
i and my family pays our respect every year
lots of people there

not a sad day
a joyful day to remember the good times

We also are usually in PV at this time (last week Oct - first week Nov ) . Its a great time to be in PV - not real crowded and excellent weather .
Jenny gives a good account of the Day Of The Dead events . We saw an altar for a little girl that really was sad - her toys and favourite little shoes were on the altar . :( I know Chico says it is a time of joyful remembering but it is hard for me to think that way . Definitely a cultural difference in the way we think of death . I like the Mexican way a lot better .

Hi Ellen , our travel plans had to be changed so Oct/Nov is out. We are planning for the second week in Dec . Hopefully you and the hubby are still in PV so we can meet up. :)

We too celebrate a life at death .
I like the way that the Mexican people teach their children about death so that if they have to face it one day they are not frightened of it but understand that it is part of life.
