food in PV

Started September 8, 2003 · 5,833 views · 4 posts
DH and I and another couple are leaving Sat.for PV. Just wondering about the food situation. I am not a seafood eater, and am kind of leary about eating beef or chicken (I heard the chicken is yellow?) in the restaurants. Is it safe? Also what about buying things at the grocery store? We are planning on going to WM Supercenter for groceries for our condo. Not sure if they will have most of the same things we are used to buying here. Just curious. Never been to Mexico before. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated!

Re:food in PV
Thanks for the info. Ron. I do know that the chicken here tastes loads better than the packaged stuff from a US supermarket.
Re:food in PV
We have been going to PV for many years and have no problem eating chicken and the fresh seafood there. But we do not get the beef. Being from the midwestern part of the US, we find that the taste of Mexican beef is not pleasing to us. Even if onions and peppers have been cooked with it, it still does not taste good to us. And neither of us is a picky eater.

i LOVE the steak and hamburgers in PV. the beef does taste different. i was told (like the yellow chickens) it had to do with what they were fed (grass not grain, maybe?).
