Food Safety

Can someone tell me if it is safe to eat salads, etc. at the hotels and downtown restuarants/stands. I once got sick in Mexico City from eating some hot peppers, but I heard that it is different in PV. thanks

The weather in PV is great during November. If you are from up north, make sure you tell all of your \"ice-bound\" friends that you will be basking in the warm sunshine!

I agree witj Matt especially the part about too much of everything .Time and time again I see people get off th eplane get to their hotel and try and eat and drink everything in their first day combined with too much sun and they will blame it on the food.That having been said Mexico and even PVR is not he cleanest for food preperation at best in most bars especially the busyu ones they rinse the glasses in cold soapy water before reusing them .I have seen first hand kitchens and food preperation and for myself I would only eat where I know it is safe. I would never eat off of a street vendor as I have a bad stomach to begin with but some of that food they have on the street sits out all day in the sun unrefrigerated .If you stay at a decent hotel you should ask for bottled water to drink ,brush your teeth with it , nothing to drink except bottled water .As for the food as Matt said the water is purified however the delivery system is old and what comes out the other end is not what your used to at home.On the plane ride home you always hear about people who spent there whole vacation in the toilet ....remember be very careful what an dwhere you eat and you will be fime if you eat at every hole in th wall or off the street vendors you will most likely get very sick.

Thanks to everyone about their comments on the food. I am looking forward to a great time. Since I am coming from up North, I will be able to tell everyone I am basking in the warm sunshine while they are playing in the snow.
