Well this is a question I hadn’t expected to be posting. We leave for PV in about 2 weeks. My 17 yr old son was diagnosed a week ago with mononucleosis. For various reasons, we can’t reschedule our trip, and are going on the assumption right now that he’ll be over the worst of it, and that he’ll be accompanying us. We’re staying in Conchas Chinas, and I want to be prepared in the event that the traveling sets him back. Can anyone shed some light on medical care, either nearby or in town, that accommodates English-speaking gringos like us? Any idea if US medical insurance, in this case PacifiCare, is worth anything there?

I agree with mr.chalieb it is contagious and also his immune system is down. Speaking from experience with a weak immune system (not the mono )be safe a see the doctor before he goes.
I to am sorry your son has taken a turn for the worse. I do hope that you can get things fixed with the airlines and the condo because your right a vacation with him at home is no vacation at all. good luck and our prayers are with you and your family.
