Horseback riding on the public beaches

Is there any one who rents horses to be ridden on the Public Beaches near the hotel zones? Or is that not allowed? If not, where is the best deal for 1/2 day rentals.

We just got back from staying at Club Marival in Nuevo Vallarta (March 28) and there was a gentleman renting horses on the beach. I believe the going rate was 200 pesos for 1 hour or $20 us. Hope this helps.
Re:Horseback riding on the public beaches
Horses are not allowed on the beach in Jalisco, so non in the hotel zone. In Nuevo (Nayarit) they are not as strict, so you can find them in some places, namely Bucerias.
Re:Horseback riding on the public beaches
Because the horses crap on the beach and the owners do not pick up after them (after being asked) I personally would not hire a beach horse!!!!!

I do not like horses unless they are sauteed with mushrooms and in a red wine sauce like the French do them.
