Is it true that you have to bring your medication in the bottle displaying the Rx, or can you carry them in a pill case. I read somewhere thst you should do that. Thanks.

Yes, and you should do that anytime you travel anywhere in case of accident or emergency and you are not able to say what meds you are on and the strength. If it is a narcotic, you may need a note from the doctor and you should only bring the prescribed amount for the number of days you are traveling.
Pill cases do not work well for travel, especially if you are on multiple meds, one reason is if someone needs to administer meds, they need to know what they are administering, and customs officials do not know each drug by what they look like, so to not have to answer questions in case you get the red light, they should be able to read what they drug is by the RX.

Better safe than sorry.An articule in the LA Times told of police in Tijauna arresting US citizens for purchasing prescription medicines ith out a prescription from a MEXICAN MD! These were not narcotics, but nornal medicines. It is a crime to do so no matter what you may hear! Most of the time it is not enforced, but why take a chance? Also I was told in no uncertain terms not only to bring all meds in their prescription bottles , but also take a copy of my prescription! I go for 3 months & this many meds will raise alarms. I do not take any pain type pills, only meds for diabetias & heart.

Most meds that are prescription are over the counter in Mexico. Ex :Cipro is over the counter as well as most antiobotics. You can buy as many meds that are sold over the counter that you want. There is no limit and it is legaLStew (Oct 15, 2004 11:26 a.m.):
