need info on pv

hi there , me and girlfreind are planning our trip to pv in middle to late january 03. we want to be close to the bars and shopping as well as the beach. need to no a nice hotel. doesnt need to be a 4-5 star. im only there to sleep a few hours. dont care if they have all inclusive or not. also is there anywhere to get cheap tour packages when get there or do we have to go through the hotel. .hey please dont laugh as im new to this mexico thing. any tips would help please. does anyone have nay recomended tours or things to do . thanks chad

Hotel frankfurt is about 3 big blocks from the beach rates about $30 per night clean ac etc no pool. Hotel Marsol mexican hotel ok but they havent spent to much money on maintenance has pool on the beach next to the Los Muertos fishing pier and where alot of the tours especially the trips to Yelapa etc leave from rates about $45 for 2 per night. The usual tourist place in old town is Los Arcos motel pool fiesta show etc on the beach about $95 a night in Jan Feb. Hotel Posada de Roger roof top pool 2 blocks to the beach about $50 per night. These are in old town 3 or 4 blocks from the Malecon they are all on Restraunt row or with in 1 block.
