Re:Ok another dumb question?
My co-worker was there and was walking at the resort at night - and saw a tirantula (sp?)

When you enter a new climate than what you are used to - you will always encounter new and exciting bugs!!

I was in Cancun - again at night - I saw a tirantula on the beach.

I don’t think you should worry too much. I’ve not seen many bugs in PV. . I think the only bug I’ve seen in PV was a truly enormous Egyptian scarab type of thing some kids were kicking around. It was the kind of thing from horror films, but we were on the second floor balcony drinking margaritas and looking down. I guess it could have been a crab, but we were up on the hill – not very close to the water.
North of Mazatlan I saw some pretty nasty huge black cockroaches, but nothing like that in PV
I’ve heard of people checking there shoes for scorpions in the morning, but I always were flip flops so it hasn’t been an issue. I’ve never seen a scorpion down there.
You should be okay as long as you don’t go thrashing through the jungle. lol I’ve never had any trouble with mosquitoes or anything, but if you’ll feel better a bottle of deep woods off wont take up much suitcase space. :)
Oh NO! those bugs sound terrible!
I am glad that there are no misqutoes but spiders and scorpions? Gosh I never even gave that a thought. Guess I will be checkingmy shoes each day...yikes!
Better to be safe than sorry...Thanks...I think> lol

Hi. I am also absolutely terrified of spiders, more of a phobia actually. I live here in PV and have for several years. I can honestly say that i have never seen anything other than cockroaches, ( a nuisanse but people usually spray their residences ) Gekkos and iguanas. I live in a house in a Mexican residential area of town. It is honestly nothing to concern yourself about unless you spend nights camping out in the jungle. The hotels and resorts are frequently sprayed for bugs. I know myself that my windows are open 24 hours a day/365 days a year ( no air cond. ) and i have never been bothered by mosquitos or anything else flying in. Relax, you will have a blast.
Re:Ok another dumb question?
I found only a lizard or two and they may even come in your hotel room if you leave your balcony door open, we saw no other bugs, unless we walked down a street we may have seen a cucaracha but just hop over them, they are on thier busy way somewhere.
Oh, there are fun little crabs on the beach, come out at night. So dont plan on any hanky panky on the beach unless you want an audience. hee hee hee.
