Okay to drink the water?

PV has some of the best and most modern filtration available. The water coming from the plant is at or exceeds some American Cities. The problem comes in the delivery system under the streets of PV. They are old and sometimes leak, and in some areas run paralell to the sewar system, So the water becomes contaminated on the way to its destination.

So my suggestion is, unless you plan to drink water straight from and at the filtration plant, then play it safe and drink only bottled water.

When in doubt, err on the side of caution.

And to add, 99% of restaurants, bars, hotels have purified ice. There are ice companies that deliver the ice very inexpensively to restaurants, etc. so the ice is fine! Most often it is ice \"tubes\" with a whole in the middle.
All hotels offer purified water, either from their filtration system which is clearly labled if they have one, to bottles of water or 5 gallon garrafones to fill your bottles/pitchers.

Vallarta is one place not to worry about the water or ice.

we too have never had problems with the ice or water in p.v. the alcohol kills any parasites in the ice, lol
