Pesos vs US dollar

Can anyone give guidance on the best currency for tipping. We have always left tips for our maids and have always done so in US currency. I read somewhere that is a problem, for the maids, with regards to exchanging the money. I just want to make sure that they get the most for their money, I do not want to short change them in any way. They work too hard for their money. Input would be greatly appreciated.

We always use pesos for tipping as well as everything else. I figure that keeps them from having to make that extra trip to a cambio for the exchange process.

I would agree with the above.

We always tip in pesos too. We only bring pesos anyway.
