Ditto on the Mayan Palace info.
I always try to stay in the North hotel zone or at the Buenaventura (because of the transportation), but this year we are at the Palace for two weeks starting March 21. How is the beach? I heard that employees at the Palace are fairly agressive in the TIP area.

I was wondering about the bus fare, since you usually can ride to Bucerias for 25-30 pesos. Was that right $14 for a breakfast buffet?

The beach at the NV Mayan Palace is awesome! It is wide and long and not that many people. Great for walking. One more thing about the Mayan Palace is that half their rooms face the mountains. Which is also a great view. But if you are expecting an ocean view you may be disappointed. Be sure to ask for one when you check in. Tell them you will wait if necessary if ocean view is what you want. The blue building has better balconies than the red and yellow buildings. We stayed on the 4th floor last August and had a great view. Several nights a week they had a piano, string quartet playing in the bar downstairs. We left our sliding door open just a bit so we could fall asleep listening to the beautiful music. It is really a wonderful resort. Just a ways out. Be sure you go to town several days and nights. The food in PV is terrific. Not to be missed! Enjoy!
