Re:The malecon statues
yes this is a good question, i would also like to know what is the info on the statues, when i was there during the hurrican some of them were on the street and others were half way in the ocean. Anyone know if there up again? are they in the same spot? what about the cathedral and the arches?
Re:The malecon statues
Not sure about the staures but I heard that if you went to the Malecon and if you were on ground level at any resturaunt all you will see is blue plastic tarps. Joy. I know they are working hard bit are you givng money to travel Agencies that are not telling the truth.
Re:The malecon statues
tak,
The blue tarps went away a couple of months ago. The malecon has been restored to brand new condition. Now we are all waiting for the return of the statues. A few of the statues are in place. Some of the stores along the malecon took their insurance money from the hurricane and used it to remodel. Come on down and see for yourself!

hey slippery-pete,
I noticed that the public telephone poles have now been removed from the alcoves that overlook the bay along the malecon. Either you must have a seat on the Puerto Vallarta city council or you own a good metal-cutting chainsaw:)
The new location for the public telephones appears to be adjacent to the brick seating areas along the middle of the malecon. Personally, I think that the phones should be moved into the little cubby holes that the timeshare vendors occupy. Maybe you can get this motion passed in the next city council meeting:)
