What are "Animators"?

OK--We are \"newbies\" to PV and to Mexico. I have heard the term \"Animators\" on many postings when people are referring to hotel staff. What exactly are Animators?

Please enlighten us.

I believe that animators may be the term used at one hotel,only. I think I heard this mentioned when referring to the Blue Bay Getaway. I know at the hotel we stayed at (Solare Sunset Bay), they were called the activities staff. But I have read a few reports of the Blue Bay and its animators and it seemed to me they referred to them as the animation staff. But they were the same as our activities staff.
