What crowds?
The only real crowds that I have encountered on any of my trips to PV was on Cruise Ship day, when I try to stay away from the Cuale Market. Of course the times that you mentioned will have more visitors, also Japaneese, Canadian and other Mexican Holidays . Different resorts which cater to specific groups will be busier at different times, ie one that does not allow \"breakers\" may not be busy during spring break but very busy over Christmas, the Chineese NewYear or Easter.
I always plan my trip when
1: I can go (trying to get 2 or more busy peoples schedules coordinated can be a problem)
2: Condo availability and cheap air tickets
3: When the things that I want to do are happening.
1&2 are no brainers, #3 takes some thought. If you want to see Orchids you want to go in the fall. If you want to see Mexican rodeos, the weeks leading up to Easter. If you want to see Whales and Dolphins Jan-March. So if you want to fish for certain fish, see ship races, soccer tournaments, baseball games and other things you just need to pick the time. There are several sites that give local goings on calanders and also past calanders. Many events happen the same time every year so decide what you want to do, pick a time and go.
