Will the Raining Season hamper a trip to Puerto Vallarta?

Started August 1, 2005 · 10,150 views · 5 posts
From what i am reading, the rainy season from June thru September. On top of that i keep hearing news about the huricane. Im reasearching all the weather websites from past years and all i see is \"cloudy, raining, thunderstorms, storms, etc\". This is my first trip to ANY resort and now im having second thoughts. From the people who been there at rainy season, should i be worried or will should i leave my sunglasses at home because of the constant downpour.

Well it can rain at any time. I have been in PV in the fall & seen very little rain. When it comes it often is in the late PM. I have been in the tropics & gone through up to two Hurricanes in a week so you bet your money & you take your chances. Of Course I live almost on top of the Hayward Fault here in the San Fran Bay area so every day can be a adventure. Come on down when you plan. Less people, more room & PV is always a good place to be.

PS Even hurricanes can be fum by the way if you are with the right person.

Whitey,
While that may be true there are \"weather stations\" , how come when I check weatherunderground it is usually incorrect? What we do not have is a meteorologist or someone who provides the local weather nor rainfall amounts, etc. When I was with Vallarta Online we wanted to add local weather to our site and we checked many International websites daily to determine who was the most accurate. We checked between two and three times a day, four or five weather websites and most were off more than they were on. By the way, we still have not figured what \"smoke\" is....haze? fog?
The only place I know to get an accurate temperature is at the big orange Soriana sign ;)

I believe they are referring to the Burn Offs in the hills that cause the \"Smoke\". Now Haze is what San Francisco has because the \"Powers\" would never allow the word Smog used there! LOL

I always think....hmmm...smoke.... must be all the taco stands lighting up the carbon chunks!
