Timeshare salesman and NAFTA
We have owned a timeshare in PV for five years and have attended
three presentations. Our original presentation when we purchased our
TS; once when we up-graded; and this last presentation when we declined
to make any changes.
All three presentations started over breakfast and continued until the
meal was over. At that time we were asked if we wanted to continue:
no, meant the presentation was over; yes, meant the presentation
would continue.
Timeshares are not for everyone. For us it is a good fit.
I just wish the NAFTA policy would extent to the MP salespeople on the
street, in the restaurants, the airport, and in Wal-Mart

If I am understanding you correctly you are speaking of a presentation at the resort you already own at. Owners pesentations for upgrades, additional time purchases, etc. are never the hardcore selling tactics used on people who they are initially convincing to purchase. You already own there and they do need to do the high pressure sales tactics to convince you to buy.

When I purchased my TS I went directly to the sales office and said here is what I want, this is how much I want to pay, what can you do for me? I never went through the 5-hour hardcore dog and pony show. I had done my homework, knew what I wanted to do, where I wanted to do it and how much I wanted to pay. I had been to many presentations and knew what you went through when you got into them so when I decided to purchase I went directly to the powers that be and avoided all the hours of torture.

In the future please refrain from posting what I have written on every PV board, if I want it posted on every board I will post it there myself. It gets really old reading the same thing over and over on every board. And there are boards \"I\" choose not to post on.

I put my original post on Trip Advisor because that is where the bulk of the complaints and discussions about the TS industry take place. 99% of the time they turn into something less than friendly and I did not post it here because I felt the bad karma that accompanies TS posts did not need to be started here or on every other board for PV. It is kind of like the AI discussions, some people love them, some people hate them but disagreements always seem to start.

edited for further clarification.
