Any comments on Velas Vallarta Grand Suites

We switched from the Holiday Inn to the Velas Vallarta Grand Suites due to the closer location to downtown. Big mistake???

Holiday Inn is closer to downtown than Velas Vallarta... though I believe Velas is a bit better hotel.
