Anyone been to Plaza Pelicanos Recently?

Anyone been to Plaza Pelicanos Recently? Wondering what hotel is like (Pool, Service, Food, Beach etc). Thinking of staying there with my family.

We stopped in there this week to see how the rebuilding has gone. It used to be Plaza las Glorias and very nice before the \"waves\" tore it apart. The two 4 story condo towers on the end fell into the ocean and the entire pool area was destroyed then. It has been mostly comjpleted now, but the condo towers are not back, and one many never since there is NO BEACH at all, just a sea wall. So if you want a true beach hotel, go elsewhere. Different friends and family have stayed at Krystal, Holiday Inn and Velas recently and all had good beaches and in the same catagory as Pelicanos. We also walked around Las Palmas, the next resort north and it looked great, but did not see rooms, and the beach is ok there. Hope that helps.

Do you mean no beach at high tide or no beach period?

I took these at low tide last week. If the link is not blue, just copy and paste into your browser and they should open okay. If blue you should be able to just click on them and have photos open. Let me know if worked for you.

I did not stay at he Pelicanos but RIGHT NEXT DOOR at the Canto Del Sol Feb 28 - Mar 11, 2004.

I guess pictures lie. We have been there a few times at high and low tide, and there is only a thin strip of sand beach in front. Yes, as you go north toward Las Palmas and Los Tules it widens out, but in front is not good. Below is a RECENT PHOTO. High or low, look at the wet sand, not anything there - as described in previous post. Again, if you expect a nice beach with palapas and wide enough for beach activities, it is no longer at this property...sadly.

I stayed in pelicanos on Ney year´s Eve, and let me tall ya... Fantastic food, great service, funny shows, excellent pools, terrific drinks, awesome bay view, good location, but.... the worst beach I´ve been to in PV, If you stay there and wanna lay on sand take the bus and go to Los Muertos or some of the other fine beaches ( there are a lot) around...

Just returned from the Pelicanos.

What a wonderful resort. Had a great time. And yes the beach leaves a lot to be desired...but hey, there are LOTS of beaches around so not a big deal.

Good to hear you enjoyed the area. Hope you walked north to Los Tules beach. Half mile long and wide. We hike that stretch a couple times a week.
