ARE ALL INCLUSIVE PRICES COMING DOWN?

Just wondering what others are paying for their vacation packages. We booked ours in August because of the chance of being sold out, and really thought that would happen especially after Cancun had the big wind, but the Newspaper had three pages of holiday specials and sell offs today. We prebooked and paid $ 1180 for airfare alone for our 6 year old grandson, out of Saskatoon for our holiday in December, but now they have the Occidental Grand Flaminco one week AI for $ 729, Qualton Club AI for $ 1288 and Golden Crown Paradise AI for $ 1539, all at xmas time, all with flights, transfers, etc. The above prices are in Canadian dollars.

What are the advertised prices where you are from??. Do they appear to be selling off or dropping the prices for Dec-Feb vacations in your area too?

NO way! From what I see here in St.Louis prices seem to be 15-20% higher than last year at the same time. And not only that, my favorite place seems to be sold out during the time I want to go. |:-|
Well we do all-inclusive, but we do it ala carte... we book with the hotel while we are staying there during our vacation because we want a certain time, and we want a certain room, then we play the air fare game ... last we America West had a heck of a time keep to schedules out of Des Moines... so we ended up wth some travel vouchers... and this year less the travel vouchers we paid $200/pp DM - Phoenix - PV ... and like i said we have our hotel booked a year in advance... but since we have been there 9 times previously, we work well with the staff and management.... but that is just how we make our plans.. we used to go charter all the time, but we got tired of the cattle call shuffle to get our seats... and sometimes you had to be there 4 hours early to get the good seats... otherwise you really got last spots... YUCK....

just a thought....

I think a good deal is whatever u are willing to pay. no point in booking and then keep checking for lower prices. your always going to find lower prices. before i booked my trip i went to 5 different places to check out prices. when i found the one that was most affortable for me i went ahead and booked it. about 2 month later i looked at prices and they were quite a bit cheaper. at first i was mad at myself that i didnt wait. but then i thought if i had waited and everything was sold out i would have been madder.
just purchased two weeks at the Royal Decaneron out of Vancouver for $1900 per person for middle of Feb...that is airfare and all inclusive resort.
Hi Tom,

We will check it out, we stayed at the Playa in 2003 but when we walked through the GCP on that trip we were in LOVE. Got stuck at the Melia last year
Happy to be home :D

We drive from Oklahoma City to Dallas/Fort Worth to fly out. Right now 4 nights AI at Royal Decameron from DFW is $560 per person and 7 nights is $710 per person...I am thinking these are GREAT deals!!!
