Hi,
I also vote for the Golden Crown Paradise...when I go back I will definately stay there again. It is a very friendly environment and the staff, food and drinks are wonderful!
Have fun!
Jane
Grand Velas
Grand Velas (http://www.grandvelas.com) is without a doubt the best AI in the area, but then the question is, do you have the money to enjoy it without going bankrupt?

Greetings

Walk to town
I will be staying at the RIU Vallarta (new PV side) in mid January for 8 days and wondering how far of a walk it is to downtown PV? Anyone know? This is a great forum for questions newbie \"PV ins\"-thanks to all.
pvJan

when are you going...where are you staying.........maybe we can all hook up ...just a thought as my first time in PV
Randy
We are staying at the Riu Vallarta between 1/13-1/21!! Where are u staying? We are sun fanatics so if the sun is out we will be in it!!! I want to do that ATV tour-sounds great! 4 hrs for $90 not bad.
Oh My yes that would be an endurance hike that is for sure. But then again, you are at some of the nicest walking beaches in the area as well as a quaint little town called Bucerias... but make sure you do grab the buss into town... then taxi back... or taxi in and bus back....

have a great time...
Personally I think it is to far by bus also. Stayed out that way couple of years ago, I believe it took over 45 minutes by taxi, and he was flying. That would be a three day walk for me. I am sure a bus ride one way would be considerably longer, but definitely cheaper. Plus, not on PV water system so drink bottled only, etc. etc, and for some reason it is in a different time zone too.

On the plus side, Bucerias is a quaint little community, good prices at their market.
on a different point of view about AI or EP or just a time share.

Is not the vacation that you have worked hard for really as good as YOU make it? If a person is going with the attitude that I love to go with that being nothing can make this a bad holiday as I am not working and here for a vacation and I am not home and things could be worse.

go with the a positive outlook without high expectaions and it really should all be good
Very well said Randy... there have been so many of us out here that have repeatedly said that over and over and over again... Yes you can have some quirks in your travels, some dings in the room, and yes the rest of the people staying at your resort can be just a little wierd... but hey you make the best out of it all... like the really ugly bad saying goes, \"when given lemons, make lemonaide...\" worse case scenario, you walk up to your travel rep, hand them your CC and tell them in uncertain terms to get you the BLANK out of there... LOL...
Chucks rendition sounds good.

Chuck you will love Playa Del Carmen as well. I have been to that area and lookforward to going back again. Now I am going to PV (1st time) and I am excited for that as well. I make the most of my vacations....and unless I am not staying in a room with a roof and four walls that has all the plumbing required, chances are I will not complain. I always go in with lower expectations as this is a foreign third world country. ANything can happen, go wrong or change overnight. I look at the people who work or live in that area and I say to myself...I am doing pretty good in the grand scheme of things and smile and enjoy myself.
We do like PdC. This will be our 9th time there and always a different resort. There are so many to chose from down the coast from Playa that I think I may have to try them all.
Chuck...
Wise decision......do them all and then you can compare or just say....yuppers, they are all just mighty fine places to stay while on vacation. I could go every 4 months no problem but..my budget would not agree (does not)
oh well........hello Lottery people?
all
I agree GCP is great I also stayed there many times and I also stayed at Canto Del Sol liked it as much and a bit cheaper. Lots more to do at Canto and food was great. Looking for a good rest. try \"Oscars\" under the bridge fabulous food and also do not miss \"La dolce Vita \"{italian and the best }on the Melacon I never miss getting a meal or a drink there have fun
