my wife and i just returned last night from 6 nights all inclusive....the sales dept had booked over 300 grade school soccer teams
for the wed,thur, fri,sat, finally they left on sunday....and then the hotel was probably less than 30% occ.......there were kids running and going crazy everywhere.....until about 11pm-------messed up our romantic gettaway-----this hotel caters to mexican families ;has giant banners hanging outside\" adults 2 for 1 and kids stay free\"------the food and service were generally good, but sometimes cold on the buffet line.; the food got better after the huge group left....the drinks were excellant ant and in abundance....the inclusive beer was sol, from quart botlles always ice cold......ive been goining to pv since1972, been there well over 50 times....i usually stay in old town..and will return to my beloved old town for my next and many more future trips.......i wanted to try the inclusive stay at a resortier place,close to town...there are so many great resturants ,in pv...... you feel retricted and obligated to spend more time when all is included.....in cancun it is surely the way to go...but in pv i think it is a negative....and the big pool was nice, but too many kids and not well balanced,chemically,,,,,way tooo much something that made my skin itch like crazy..next time we will return to 1 of my 3 favorites, playa los arcos about $80dbl; poasda de roger,$30-50dbl; and my old stand by hotel rio $40dbl
all clean and with cold air;los arcos has been a recent fav.;a little more resorty with 2 cabaret dinner shows each week for about $10each and a night club lounge with a great combo under the palapa each night....fyi the have a bellman named Ramon,he has worked ther for 13 years ,,,i met him when he was a bellboy at hotel rio in 1974......to sum up .....this is a pretty good hotel if you are bringing kids to pv, lots of activities for them, the drinks are great, the food is good, but you take a chance on what groups the sals force has booked and you can count on a full house with mexican families on the weekend
