My boyfriend and I are heading down to Mexico and staying at the Buenoventura for a week. Any ideas on what we can do for fun? Which clubs are great?

Re:Buenoventura travellers looking for fun
Im krispy boyfriend, we are 29 and 26, so just on the cusp of old age (30), We are looking for places to dance at night and places within walking distace of the hotel for the day. Being that we dont want to get lost or kidnapped (lol) we want to find places that are close to the hotel and safe.
Mopeds\"s has anyone rented these? are they worth it?

Where did you get the impression that people who stray from their hotels get kidnapped?
One of the most enjoyable things to do in PV is wander around, you will find many interesting things past the stores up in the residential areas, personally we have fun getting a bit lost. If you get hot stop into one of the local cantinas for a cerveza and maybe a bite to eat, the locals do not bite you back. LOL
You will find much to see, do and enjoy in PV, you just need to relax, kick back, and slow down to Mexican time.
P.S. Oh yeah about the mopeds, the streets are mostly cobblestone, narrow with much traffic. Forget the mopeds, busses and taxis are inexpensive and plentiful, it is very easy city to get around in.

Thanks for all your help!
Would you suggest renting mountain bikes as a day excursion? Also, do you know where we can get good maps for the trip? Either online or a book to purchase?
THANKS!

a couple of good books ... Mexico For Dummies.... there is a lot of great hints there... and a pretty decent map to places ... also either Frommers or Fodors Puerto Vallarta are some excellent travel books to have information from.... as for a Map... Jennybean knows where to get some... there are some decent maps within this website somewhere...
you will have a great time... ask all the questions you want... that is what we are here for... promote Vallarta
